I never realized that I had so many negative thought patterns until I read this. I'm sure I suffer from all of them! In the self-improvement realm, even anecdotes for stories of people whose lives have been improved by different practices, can be compelling. This book just tells you, here try this or try that. But I don't see any reason why I would need to be a guinea pig in effect to see if they work.(-) Focus. What I wish the author would've done was to research and investigate a whole bunch of different strategies, and then pick one of them as his major focus and then write in an in-depth book about that one thing. Teach it to a bunch of people, and see how they improve their outlook. And then use that as part of the content of the book. Instead it's sort of a mishmash and I'm supposed to pick what will work best for me.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BUT THERE ARE THINGS THAT I DO LIKE-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(+) I like the strategy of creating a worry time and demarcating that from the rest of your day. I hope the author perhaps does a deep dive into that one strategy and perhaps makes a book about that alone.I think the point of a book like this should be not whether it's well-written, or good compilation of ideas, but rather can this really help someone.
